Knob Creek Cask Strength rye 2018

If you like your rye 9 years, 120 proof, all kinds of hot, and full of flavor the Knob Creek 2018 Cask Strength limited edition is for you.  Winner of "Best Rye Whiskey" at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this bottle hits with a great nose of vanilla and a little honey to go along with the high proof heat.  You'll keep that vanilla and honey to go along with some pepper on the taste and of course with the high proof, the "Kentucky Hug" is wonderful on the finish.  As a cask strength, it's meant to let you proof it down to your taste, this one goes over a bourbon ball or large block of ice for me and is a fantastic sipping rye worthy of all the press.  And it's surprisingly available on the shelf right now at Spirits of 76...though likely not for long.  I'd label this one as highly recommended.
